Need advice: selling an old van with mechanical issues in Winnipeg
James Roy · · 3 replies
I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan with 250,000 km that needs engine repairs estimated at $2,000. Thinking of selling as-is for parts or to a private buyer. What’s a fair price? Should I fix it first or sell it broken? Live in Winnipeg, winter coming soon.

At that mileage and issue, probably better to sell as-is. You might get $800-$1,200 depending on condition.

Listing it on Facebook marketplace as a project vehicle might attract hobbyists.

If you have time, a cheap tune-up could help increase value, but probably not worth the $2k.
