Why is my new gas stove pilot light keeps going out in Saskatoon?

Rachel Campbell · · 3 replies

I installed a new gas stove last month in Saskatoon and the pilot light keeps going out randomly. I’ve tried cleaning around it but no luck. Could it be a draft issue or a faulty thermocouple? Any advice before I call a technician? The stove is from Costco, cost about $900 CAD.

Sounds like a faulty thermocouple. They’re cheap to replace and a common cause for pilot light issues.

If there’s a draft under the stove or from vents, it can blow out the pilot light too.

Make sure the pilot light flame is strong and blue, not weak or yellow.
