New garage door opener installation—chain vs belt drive?

Replacing my old garage door opener in Calgary and torn between chain drive and belt drive models. Heard chain is louder but cheaper; belt is quieter but a bit pricier. I live close to my neighbours and want something quiet. Budget around CAD 600 for opener plus installation. Thoughts?

Belt drive is definitely quieter and worth the extra cost if noise is a concern.

Chain drives do cost less upfront but can get noisy over time.

Look for models with good warranties; sometimes price difference isn’t huge after a sale.
