Oven temperature way off: tips for recalibrating in older Whirlpool?

Mark Clark · · 3 replies

My 15-year-old Whirlpool oven doesn’t seem to keep the correct temp—bakes everything slower and unevenly. I’m in Montreal and it’s frustrating, especially with baking. Is there a way to recalibrate it myself or do I need a tech? Anyone tried DIY temp fixes?

You can try using an oven thermometer and adjusting the temp knob calibration. Some models have a calibration screw inside the control panel.

I called a tech in Ottawa once; cost me about CAD 120 for recalibration. Worth it if you bake a lot.

Check if the door seal is still good, that can mess up temps too.
