Unconventional Ways to Cool Your Home This Summer

Nicole Taylor · · 1 replies

As summer heats up, we all want to stay cool without breaking the bank on AC expenses. I’ve been trying some unconventional methods that have actually worked well for me! Have any of you ever used fans in creative ways, like creating a cool breeze with ice or using box fans to pull in cooler air at night?

I also found that closing the curtains during the hottest parts of the day really helps keep the heat out. But I’m curious about other strategies! I’ve heard of people using reflective window films, but I haven’t tried that yet.

What about you guys? Any fun or weird hacks you’ve come across to beat the heat this summer? Or maybe some old-school tips from generations past? Let’s share our experiences and make this summer a little cooler! What’s your go-to method?

I get the appeal of using fans and ice to cool down, but have you thought about the energy costs involved? If you’re running multiple fans all day, it might not be much cheaper than an AC unit after all. Plus, there’s the risk of increased humidity and possible mold growth with all that ice melting in your space. It’s important to consider the long-term effects and whether the savings really add up.
