Open concept with kids - how to keep mess contained?

We remodeled our main floor into an open concept living/dining/kitchen in Montreal but now the kids’ toys and clutter are everywhere. Anyone have tips or tricks to keep the open space looking tidy without closing it off again?

We put in built-in storage benches with toy bins underneath in the living room. Easy to stash away clutter quickly.

Using decorative baskets and baskets on shelves helps stuff get hidden fast but still easy to grab.

Consider a dedicated play zone that’s part of the open space but somewhat contained by rugs or low furniture.
