How often should I descale my Nespresso Vertuo? Coffee tastes off.

Living in Winnipeg, the water is pretty hard here. I noticed my Nespresso Vertuo is making my coffee taste a bit bitter and the machine sometimes sputters. The manual says descale every 3 months, but I’ve only done it once since I bought it last year. How often do you do it? Also, which descaling solution do you use that’s safe and effective?

I live in Calgary with hard water too. I descale mine every 2 months using the official Nespresso descaling kit, works great and keeps the taste consistent.

I use a vinegar and water mix, but I heard it might void warranty. Better stick with manufacturer’s solution.

What kind of water do you use? I switched to filtered water and it helped reduce buildup.
