How to find reliable basement finishing contractors in Toronto?

I’m overwhelmed trying to pick a contractor for my basement finishing. So many options, some seem too cheap, others way over my budget. Any tips on how to vet them or websites to check reviews? Budget is around 30k CAD for a 700 sq ft basement, including bathroom and kitchenette.

I used HomeStars and read tons of reviews before picking mine. Also asked for references and checked past projects in person.

Get multiple quotes and don’t just pick the cheapest. Sometimes spending a bit more means less headache.
