Looking for advice on how to properly winterize my central AC system here in Calgary. I read about covering the unit with a tarp or special cover, but others say it traps moisture and causes rust. I just want to protect it from snow, debris, and freezing temps over winter while keeping it in good shape. Any tips or product recommendations from locals who've done this?

I use a breathable mesh cover from Home Depot; it keeps debris out but allows moisture to escape.

Avoid plastic tarps that seal tightly; they cause more harm by trapping condensation.
