Weird Thumping Noise When Turning Steering Wheel - 2016 Ford Escape

Recently noticed a weird thumping noise when I turn the steering wheel left or right, mostly when parking or making tight turns. It’s a 2016 Ford Escape, driven mostly around Ottawa. Could this be power steering related or CV joints? Looking for ideas before I take it to the mechanic.

Sounds like worn CV joints to me, especially if noise gets louder with speed.

Could be low power steering fluid or a failing pump too.

Check if any grease is leaking from the CV boots—common failure point.
