Coffee machine won't heat water properly, any troubleshooting ideas?

I have a Breville espresso machine I got 3 years ago from Best Buy Toronto. Lately, the coffee isn’t hot enough and the heating light blinks oddly. I clean and descale it regularly, but no change. It’s out of warranty now. Has anyone experienced this? Is this likely a heating element issue or something else? Would it be worth repairing locally or just buying a new machine?

Could be a faulty thermostat or heating element. Local repair shops in Toronto sometimes charge around $100 for diagnosis and repairs.

I faced similar with my Breville, ended up replacing it because repair cost got close to new machine price.

Does your machine have a removable water tank? Sometimes lime buildup affects sensors.
