I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer weather we’ve been having in Vancouver! I’ve been thinking about revamping my garden for the fall. With the wet season approaching, I’m curious about what plants thrive here this time of year. Has anyone had success with certain perennials or native plants that can handle our climate? Also, I'm looking to create a more eco-friendly space. If you have any tips for sustainable gardening or local stores with good selections, I'd love to hear them!

While revamping a garden is exciting, let’s not forget about the costs involved. Some plants may look great on paper but really struggle in our local climate or turn out to be high maintenance. Are you factoring in the long-term care costs for those perennials or native plants? Plus, with all the rain we get, have you considered drainage solutions? It’d be a shame to put in all that effort only to have your garden flooded or plants die off.
