Central AC thermostat showing error code 11 in Winnipeg - what now?

My Honeywell thermostat connected to my central AC in Winnipeg started flashing error code 11. The unit stopped cooling, but heating still works fine. I tried resetting the thermostat and turning power off/on but no luck. Googling suggests it’s a sensor issue? Anyone dealt with this before? Should I replace the thermostat or call HVAC?

Error 11 usually means faulty temp sensor in the thermostat. You can try replacing just the thermostat if it’s old.

If your system is warranty covered, call your installer first. Sensor replacement might be covered.

Sometimes cleaning thermostat contacts and rebooting helps but if not, swap thermostats.
