Suggestions for sealing gaps around window frames to stop drafts in Halifax

My windows have noticeable gaps around the frames causing drafts in my Halifax home, especially now that spring is chilly. Looking for easy and cost-effective ways to seal these gaps. Would expanding foam work or is that too messy? Any recommended products from Lowe’s or Home Depot?

Expanding foam works but can be messy and difficult to control in small gaps. Caulk is better for smaller cracks.

Try weatherproof caulking with a silicone base. It’s flexible and seals well.

Also, check if you need to add weatherstripping around sash windows if applicable.
