Replacing roof shingles on a budget in Winnipeg, any brand recommendations?

Looking to replace shingles on my 1200 sq ft roof in Winnipeg. The winters are harsh here, so durability is key but I’m working with a $4000 limit including installation. Heard some brands from Home Depot are good value but not sure which ones stand up to snow load and wind. Anyone with local experience?

I used IKO from Home Depot last fall, pretty solid for the price and they handled snow well.

Make sure to ask installers about warranty coverage specific to Winnipeg’s weather.

Avoid cheap no-name brands; they won’t last more than a few winters around here.
