Fence repair advice after heavy winds in Winnipeg
Tyler Grant · · 3 replies
My wooden fence took a beating during last month’s windstorm here in Winnipeg. Several panels are loose, and some posts seem unstable. Thinking of tackling the repairs myself but not sure where to start. Should I replace all the posts or just the damaged ones? Any tips on reinforcing posts to withstand future winds?

Replacing only the damaged posts is fine if the others are solid. Use concrete to set new posts deep.

Adding metal post anchors can help resist wind stress.

Check if your fence boards are screwed or nailed; screws make future repairs easier.
