Advice on running speaker wires through exterior walls in a Montreal townhouse

I’m installing in-wall speakers in my Montreal townhouse and need to run speaker wires through exterior walls. Worried about insulation, cold drafts, and wire protection. Any tips on what wire to buy and how to prevent moisture or heat loss? Also, do I need special permits or inspections here?

Use CL2 or CL3 rated speaker wires for in-wall use and make sure to seal all holes with fire stop foam.

In Montreal winters, I’d also wrap wires in some insulation sleeves just to be safe.

No permits needed usually but check with your condo board or municipality.
