Is It Time to Upgrade Your Old Appliances?
Sophia Young · · 1 replies
We all have that one appliance in our home that’s been around since the dawn of time. Whether it’s your sentimental 20-year-old fridge that still keeps things cold or the washing machine that sounds like a war zone, it can be hard to let go. But with energy efficiency becoming a larger concern and newer models boasting advanced technology, is it really worth holding on to those old machines?
Sure, they might work, but how much are you really spending in energy bills? Not to mention the hidden costs of repairs when they inevitably start breaking down. Plus, if you're a landlord like me, old appliances can turn off potential renters faster than you can say "dishwasher!" And what about the risk of them breaking down right before a big holiday or family gathering?
Have you made the leap and upgraded your appliances recently? If so, what improvements have you noticed? Or are you still clinging to your old faithfuls? Let’s hear your thoughts!

Oh man, don’t even get me started on old appliances! I have a fridge that’s older than some of my friends, and while it still works, I swear it runs louder than my kid’s video games! I’m tempted to keep it just for the nostalgia factor, but I’ve been reading about how much energy it wastes.
Maybe I should turn it into a ‘garden fridge’ outside for drinks during BBQs this summer! Has anyone else repurposed old appliances like that? I love the idea of giving it a second life instead of just tossing it out!
