Broken vacuum filter replacement - anywhere cheaper than Dyson?

Nicole Taylor · · 3 replies

My Dyson V8’s filter got ruined during cleaning, and the Dyson official replacement is $30 CAD, which seems steep. Does anyone know if generic filters sold at Canadian Tire or online work just as well? I’m in Edmonton if that helps with local retailers. Don’t want to risk damaging the vacuum, but $30 for a tiny filter feels overpriced.

I bought a third-party Dyson filter off Amazon.ca for about $15. It works fine for now but can’t guarantee long term.

Check out Vacuum-Direct.com, they sometimes have discounted genuine parts shipped to Canada.

You might find some used filters on Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace, but hygiene could be an issue.
