How to fix squeaky laminate floor boards in my Ottawa condo?
Sophia Young · · 3 replies
I have squeaky spots in my laminate flooring near the living room window in my Ottawa condo. It’s annoying especially in winter when heating dries the air. I read about using talcum powder or powdered graphite to reduce friction. Anyone tried this? Or should I pull up the boards and fix the subfloor?

Talcum powder helped me a bit but squeaks came back after some time. I ended up putting a few screws through to secure the subfloor.

You can try those laminate floor repair kits from Home Depot. They have some kits with screws and plugs.

Did you check if your baseboards are tight? Sometimes loose baseboards cause noise.
