Dealing with Plumbing Issues before Winter Hits

Jenny Campbell · · 1 replies

Hello Ottawa! As we’re inching closer to fall, I’ve been thinking about my plumbing before the cold weather sets in. I had some issues last winter with frozen pipes, and I really want to avoid that this time. Has anyone done preventative maintenance on their plumbing? I’m curious if it’s worth having a professional come in to check things out or if there are DIY steps I can take? Any tips on fixing leaks or insulating pipes? Let’s help each other out!

Hey Ottawa folks! I totally feel you on the plumbing worries as winter approaches. Last year, I was so unprepared that I ended up with a frozen pipe disaster—what a nightmare! I learned the hard way that insulating your pipes is a game changer. I wrapped mine in foam insulation, and it made a world of difference. Also, don't forget to get those outdoor hoses disconnected and stored away! It sounds simple, but trust me, it's a lifesaver. Anyone else have some crazy plumbing stories? Let’s swap tips!
