Selling my 2014 Mazda3 privately in Quebec - want to ensure smooth transfer. I know I need the certificate of transaction from the SAAQ, but what else? Does the buyer handle the registration or do I? Any tips for avoiding headaches?

You need the proof of sale document signed by both parties and the SAAQ form. Buyer handles registration within 10 days.

Make sure to remove your license plates before handing over the car.

Get a copy of the buyer’s driver’s license and keep the signed contract just in case.
