Listing my 2008 Corolla at $4,800 on Craigslist. Worried about scams or flaky buyers. Someone offered to pay extra but wants to wire transfer before seeing the car. Should I be wary? What are the best ways to safely handle payment and transfer in BC?

Never accept payment without seeing the car and buyer verifying it. Wire transfers can be faked.

Cash or bank drafts are safer. Meet at your bank to handle cash or draft verification.

For the transfer, use ICBC’s e-transfer service or visit a driver’s licensing office together.
