Sure, it sounds great to save on labor and feel proud of your handiwork, but materials can add up quickly—not to mention any tools you might need to buy or rent that you won’t use again.
Then there’s the question of safety. Climbing up on a roof can be dangerous, and unless you’re experienced, you might end up with injuries that could cost you more in the long run—not to mention potential damage to your home if things go wrong. And don’t get me started on permits and inspections! Are you prepared to navigate those, or is it just going to be a headache?

Oh, I totally get the DIY roofing excitement! I almost jumped into it last summer when my shingles were looking a bit worse for wear.
