Brake Squeal on My 2017 Corolla - Pads or Rotors?
Tyler Grant · · 3 replies
Hey everyone, just started hearing this high-pitched squeal when I brake lightly on my 2017 Toyota Corolla. It’s not constant, more like at low speeds and when it’s cold outside (we’re in Toronto). I replaced pads about 20k km ago. Could it be the rotors? What should I check before pulling the trigger on new parts? Thanks!

Could be glazed pads or rotors. Try sanding down the pads lightly and see if that helps.

Do you see any grooves or rust on the rotors? Sometimes a light resurface at an auto shop helps.

How many kms are on your rotors? If over 80k, replacement might be best.
