Running speaker wire in a 50-year-old Toronto home with plaster walls?

Hi, I want to set up in-wall speakers but my house has plaster walls with lath, not drywall. Any recommendations on how to run speaker wires without damaging plaster? Also, what’s the best wire to use? Thanks!

Plaster can be tricky. Consider running wires through baseboards or crown molding instead to avoid major damage.

I’d use CL2 speaker wire and hire a pro for plaster walls if you want minimal cracks.

Sometimes surface-mounting is less invasive and looks pretty neat with paintable wire covers.
