Battery draining fast after winter tire switch—any connection?

Switched to winter tires last week in Saskatoon, and now my car battery seems to be draining faster than usual. Could changing tires affect battery life or is it a coincidence? Car is a 2017 Subaru Forester.

Tire change itself shouldn’t affect battery, but maybe you left a light on or something electrical was triggered during the swap.

Check if any snow/ice got into wiring around the wheels. Could cause electrical shorts draining the battery.

If the battery is old, the cold weather combined with older battery health might make it drain faster.
